Preamble

This plan covers an intensive five-week acceleration program that will turn fresh ideas into successful businesses, through a set of boot camps where the entrepreneurs will define, validate and develop the model under the Lean Startup methodology.

Outline

Phase 1: Pre-program

The first phase — pre-program — consists of preparing the program itself (including, but not limited to, the boot camps, workshops, and mentorship sessions) and opening the application process to get participants in.

Main tasks

  1. Application process

This phase is crucial for the program's success (see “possible risks” below). It includes developing a thorough application and selection process, communicating it transparently (what are the requirements, expectations, and selection criteria), and setting up a landing page for startups to sign up and apply.

Key metrics to track (examples):

  1. Communication and outreach

Development and launch of marketing strategy to attract promising startups to the program, understanding our target audience and using channels such as, but not limited to, social media, online platforms, email marketing, startup communities and press releases.

Key metrics to track:

  1. Mentors, speakers and partners

Let’s face it: the program will only be as good as the people making it. Inviting the right mentors, speakers and partners, capable of meeting the needs of the participants and helping them grow is the key of the value creation of this program. Other partners can also include sponsors, media partners to cover the program, and event management partners (venues, entertainment, catering, etc.) as they are all part of providing the experience.

Key metrics to track:

  1. Screening and selection process

Time to pick the winners! This task will require a thorough, transparent and rigorous process with objective criteria in order to find start-ups with promising product-market-fit, team strength, potential for growth and leadership. Besides the documentation, it is also important to conduct interviews to get to know the people in front of the projects.

Key metrics to track:

  1. Communication of results
